Edmonds Manufacturing Facility

BUSINESS:

Edmonds is a leader in the manufacture of natural and powered and hybrid ventilation products.

TASK:

During the refit of the new manufacture facility a ventilation system was required to provide both comfort for the employees and the constant supply of fresh air to the building.

SOLUTION:

The ventilation system was developed using an AS4740 calculator and comprises of 22 x ecopower EP900. Each EP900 has an extraction rate of 10000m3/hr. To ensure the temperatures in the building remain at the desired level, each EP900 is fitted with a thermostatic control unit which allows the ecopower motors to respond to the temperature in the area the ecopower is located  and either run in natural mode or variable speed, powered mode depending on the temperature, this feature provides the most efficient (maximum performance and minimal power consumption) ventilation possible. To supplement the power requirements of the ecopower system a 5k/w solar system was installed. The system is also designed with no ventilation near the main roller doors to maximise the draw effect across the factory.

RESULT:

The system has been extremely effective, during the summer period it provided an environment where employees could work with good comfort levels. The work area has both a stable temperature level and a high quality of air.
